This Maritime Display will feature items from renowned underwater film-maker Ben Cropp’s private collection, supplemented by items from the Douglas Shire Historical Society, and hopefully the Cairns Maritime Museum Association and the Cairns Wooden Boat Association.
Some of Ben’s popular films will be shown as well printed displays of the new Port Douglas Waterfront Plans and the Historical Society’s project for the Maritime Museum.
Confirmed: The world famous Duyfken will be moored at the Wharf for the duration of the Display.
This is a Free Event
Two weekends of racing, sun, spray and sensational sailing with great courses including island races. The regatta is over six races with a fun WAGS event on the Wed evening.
This spectacular event is hosted by the Port Douglas Yacht Club .
Vessels race for the prestigious Clipper Cup, originally raced off Hawaii as an international competition.
The welcome briefing and final registration for crews will be held at the Yacht Club on Friday the 22nd prior to the Carnivale Street Parade. The Audi Centre Cairns Clipper Cup Regatta will be held over the two weekends of Port Douglas Carnivale 09.

A Midsummer Night's Dream is a magical tale of gods and fairies, mischief and misadventures, and the confusing path of true love. Full of action, humour and drama. Francois Klaus's lavish production is based on Shakespeare's much-loved play, and features several different musical styles, including Mendelssohn's famous incidental music.

Seafood Extravaganza 2009 will again be hosted by Meridien Marinas iconic Marina Mirage. Traditionally the event presents an opportunity for the local fishing industry to show case catches produced from the Coral Sea. Basked in sunshine between the Mountain Ranges and Great Barrier Reef, Marina Mirage provides an ideal location to host such an event. Sample seafood delights direct from the ocean served from working fishing vessels or dishes cooked to order from one of the many local restaurants trading on the boardwalk for the day. Combined with a unique atmosphere of Live Music roaming from the stern of a local charter vessel, sit back and enjoy the ambience created with a refreshing beverage, and splendid tasting of seafood. Free entry, family friendly with face painting for the kids enjoy the experience that Meridien Marina Seafood Extravaganza has to offer.
