Acid Jacks!!!!!!!
These guys are a couple of heavy bass hooligans!!!
In an era when it seems like a brand new cookie-cutter new-wave electro duo emerges every other day, followed by excited press proclamations that they’re the “second coming of Daft Punk”, Acid Jacks are doing well to shirk the stereotype. Acid Jacks rose to dominance through the underground dance music scene but are well seated within the mutated pop area. Their production and animated DJ show prove these guys really are injecting something new and fun into dance music without the assertions. They’re insufferable and outspoken, probably the reason why they are one of the most in demand DJ and production outfits regularly performing across the country – they can rock an intimate club crowd or main stage of the biggest festivals!
They might be “idiots” to a certain degree, but think again as these international purveyors of bass turn everything up to “rocking”.
Grab a couple of girlfriends.. or boys.. and come along and join us for a relaxing but entertaining 3 hours of yummy lunch, fashion parade, guest speaker, raffle, great company, lucky door prizes.. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!!!! Come along and support the Cairns Branch Leukaemia Foundation and support local families.
seats still available.. book before Wednesday 3rd June.
Unlimited bowling for 3 hours!
You can bowl all you like plus we’ll add some fun and games through out the night. There’s also the chance to win 10 Cartons of Beer!!! But you’ll have to be here to win.

Come join The Gilligan's Crew on the back decks for the launch of DECK SEXY - with sexy special Guest Timmy Trumpet blowing his tunes.
Yes guys this is one HUGE night, on the main stage we have Dirty Laundry...... Back decks Timmy Trumpet and this all for only $10 entry, get in early before there is no room left.
Having multiple WORLD WIDE tours under his horn, including performances at IBIZA’S PACHA (voted No.2 best club in the world, Dance Music Awards 05/06) and LONDON’S MINISTRY OF SOUND (No.3), Timmy has stamped his name as arguably one of Australia’s best DJ sidekicks - but he hasn’t stopped there. He has taken his electro symphony a step further and launched a solo career as a DJ / TRUMPET COMBINED ARTIST, creating even more hype and landing him residencies at clubs such as Arthouse (Sydney), Platinum (Gold Coast), Monastery (Brisbane), Metropolis (Perth), Dragon Fly (Kings Cross)! In fact, in just under a few years of DJing he has already made the ITM Top 50 DJ’s placing #37 in Australia.
Supporting and playing alongside acts like ERIC MORILLO, KASKADE, The Stafford Brothers, Potbelleez and Sneaky Sound System he has become somewhat of a drifter in this industry, yet to conform to the group sound system ideology. Instead he has focused all his energy on adapting to a variety of DJ’s and music, and generally dispersing himself around with his dance floor whore wireless microphone.
2009 is set to be an even bigger year for Timmy. He has already played at ‘Zouk’ SINGAPORE and ‘Mass’ SOUTH KOREA in January. Another European summer is also on the cards with venues like ‘Club Paradise’ in MYKONOS and ‘Pacha’ in IBIZA already showing interest! He plans to kick back on home turf for most of the year to produce music for some of the house scenes biggest labels. Whilst he is already featured on various HED KANDI compilation’s including ATFC’s single “New Day,” he remains the No.1 accessory for any live Dj outfit!!
Featured Festivals include: Sensation White, Good Vibrations, Summafieldazye, Future Music, Park Life.
Local supports on the night include Crasey, Jeremy J, BattleKat and Skotty.

They're back!!
If the sibling duo of electro house DJs, THE STAFFORD BROTHERS, doesn’t ring a bell, then one must wonder where you’ve been hiding for the past few years. Certainly not in the clubs, where the Stafford Brothers are sure sell-out headliners in every state around the country. And you can’t have been to any festivals in Australia because if you had, you would have seen the brothers in action at any one of them. And surely you haven’t been tuned into the radio, where the Staffords’ own productions and remixes peak at the top end of the club and dance charts and are hot request favourites.
Proud Gold Coasters, Matt and Chris Stafford have been steadily rising to the top of Australia’s elite DJ forces since 1999, the year the brothers decided to shelve their solo DJing and pair up fulltime. Both standout DJs, Chris is an old hat at producing and a natural lyricist on the mic, while Matt is known for his lead guitar solos over sets and possesses business acumen to boot. All this adds up to the blood brothers combining as a powerful force in both the production and DJ realms and whether they’ll admit it or not, as one of the main drivers of the Australian dance music scene. The nationwide fame of the Stafford Brothers’ seems to know no limit. The Stafford Brothers have made a big climb in the 2008 Sony inthemix50 poll, claiming the #2 national place.
Let’s not forget what else the brothers have been up to recently. . . After signing to international dance identity Ministry of Sound, the Stafford Brothers have wound up a string of Ministry of Sound releases. They’ve collaborated with the Hoxton Whores for exclusive Ministry of Sound titles, with Dabruck & Klein (We Play, GER), Oliver Lang on the anthemous ‘I’m Feeling’ and rocked recent remixes for Ran Shani (OneLove) and Damian Wilson (CR2), Princess Superstar, Sunfreakz, Dope n Dusted and Audio Thieves...to name a few!
The Stafford Brothers retain their status as national One Love resident and both this residency and their in-demand guest spots see them playing the best clubs in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane and in their home town of the Gold Coast, as well as numerous towns in between. Similarly, promoters of Summafieldayze, Two Tribes, Future Music Festival, Good Vibrations, Parklife, BBQ Breaks, Splendour in the Grass, Global Gathering, Parklife and of just about every other dance festival eagerly seek out Matt and Chris to feature on their festival bill, where the boys are never short of an appreciative crowd.
Matt and Chris are renowned for their animated hands-in-the-air crazy behind-deck antics, yet both brothers know the music is the key and the most important part of any night.
So, now do the Stafford Brothers ring a bell? They’re a perfect pairing, like Jager and Red Bull, and that’s probably how you’ll always be able to identify them…
Up for it?!

Inspired by a hot flush and a bottle of wine, Writer/Producer Jeanie Linders created Menopause the Musical as a celebration of women who are on the brink of, in the middle of, or have survived "The Change." Since its first performance, the show has evolved as a "grassroots" movement of women who deal with life after 40 and all the challenges they conquer mentally, physically and spiritually.
Do you think that 500,000 Australian women could be wrong? We don't think so. After all, that is how many have seen this hilarious show over the last two and a half years. And they love it! So much so, many of the audience members have come back time and time again to join with their sisters in this 90 minute, one act laugh-a-thon!
Maybe the attraction is the songs that everyone grew up with - The Great Pretender, Only You, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Stand by Your Man, I Will Survive and twenty more - all sung with gusto and all with their 'new' lyrics. Or maybe it is the realisation that there is a wonderful life waiting after 'The Change.'
Come and see for yourself. We guarantee that you will leave the theatre uplifted and joyous.

While their latest record Sharing Space is working hard for them in Europe and the UK, gaining rave reviews from music press and fans alike, the Cog boys have been busily putting the finishing touches on their national Between Oceans Tour May / June 2009.
Cog's powerful live shows have been wowing fans for the past few years, earning them spots on the country's biggest festivals, including the recent Big Day Out Tour, and leaving a trail of sold out venues in their wake. The Between Oceans Tour will be the band's last round before they take time out to pull together material for their third LP.
Cog are thrilled to announce Manchester's kings of post-metal, Oceansize will make their maiden voyage to Australia to join them for this run.
When Oceansize christened themselves back at the start of the third millennium, they didn't just pick a name, they set themselves a challenge. Their mission statement was to make the biggest music possible, adventures on the high seas of future-rock giganticism that could never, ever stop.
The band's third LP, ‘Frames' glows with bone-crushing experimentation; mixing ultimate warrior wrestling music with beautiful classical flourishes. Oceansize always weave magic out of unfamiliar time signatures, on their latest LP, they have so many of them going on at the same time that they say the album is, at times, "the sound of a band ignoring itself." Evidenced on the lurching ‘Savant', the ravenous ‘Only Twin' and the climactic ‘The Frame', every single player goes on their own journey, making up a deeply intricate whole.
Melbourne three piece Calling All Cars will join Cog and Oceansize to open. One of Triple J's Next Crop Artists, they will use the Cog tour to release ‘Disconnect ‘ the first single off their debut album due later in 2009.

The Voice of Elvis - Starring Gary Fontana
Everybody loves Elvis, and although he may have left the building, his memory certainly lives on. And the ‘King' lives on also in the form of Gary Fontana and his ‘Voice of Elvis' show where you could be forgiven for thinking Gary is literally ‘channelling the king'. With years of experience under his belt of performing Elvis hits, this singer is well placed to depict the king, and he's done so in some of the most prestigious environments in the world, namely Las Vegas. Don't be mistaken though, this is not a tribute show of proportions where the performer mimes along to Elvis tracks and tries to mimic the legendary musician's moves. Far from it in fact, everything about Gary's depiction of Elvis is real and live, from his vocals to his styling and choreography - this is possibly one of the closest experiences to the ‘real deal' and its no surprise to find Gary has won acclaim world wide for his show. Since ‘the King' passed away there have been numerous Elvis impersonators trying their hand at copying his enigmatic style, yet few have managed to embody his famous swivelling hips, his raw rockabilly vocals, smooth ballad voice and uncontrollable onstage energy. This is what sets Gary apart. And the fact that he sounds almost exactly like the real thing! And the choreography is stunning, designed by professionals in Las Vegas and orchestrated by Gary with such ease and skill. We've all had moments where we've wanted to shake, rattle and roll, throw on our blue suede shoes and yell out like we are nothing but a hound dog... and heres your chance! But beware, The Voice of Elvis show has been selling out around the country, so get your tickets fast.

Intrinsically linked to its Pasifika influenced roots and dance, with a solid ingredient of dub, New Zealand's Salmonella Dub have created a unique musical art form incorporating the links of guitar, vocals, samples, trumpet, trombone, keys, harp and even sitar.
Since the release of the band's self-titled debut album more than 14 years ago, Salmonella Dub have garnered themselves an international fan base, with a solid basis of music-lovers in Australia spruiking their musical attributes.
The band has toured to Australia at least 27 times, and enamoured audiences in Europe and the UK at least six times.
Now they're back with their sixth album 'Heal Me' that stands out from the crowd has harking back to their origins.
This was the first time the band has had the luxury of focusing on an album without the distraction of touring, instead, the album was recorded during a dedicated time of workshopping lyrics and vocal lines together, making their songwriting one of their most collaborative yet.
Returning to Australia with their new album under their belt, and a plethora of strong songs from the past Salmonella Dub's first performance at Tanks Arts Centre is guaranteed to earn them a whole new host of fans.
