Cairns has a large Drawing on the recollections of a young Filipina-Australian woman, The Folding Wife is a deeply moving story about migration and cultural heritage exploring the external and internal landscapes that propel people to scatter across the face of the earth and the consequences it has for personal and cultural identity.
Contrasting the iconic imagery of a fierce and impenetrable Australian landscape with that of the resilient Filipina, The Folding Wife fuses rhythmic poetic text with the unique visual textures of Malila based Anino Shadowplay Collective. This Anino collective is a group of multimedia artists dedicated to popularising the art of shadow play.

New York's 28th Street, the famous 'Tin Pan Alley', was the birthplace of many of the world's most beloved songs. This original show shares the stories behind the composers behind the music, putting the composers' lives and times into context with their music.
`Roadshow performances may contain coarse language, sexual references and material that can offend. It is not recommended for children under the age of 15.
Bolstered by roars of laughter and unbridled adoration of audiences during their Melbourne season, a bunch of international and local comedians will be cramming healthy egos into tiny suitcases and hitting the highways of this mighty continent.
Last year, the Roadshow consisted of approximately 40 of the Festival's finest comedians, who played a total of 103 performances to 52,137 people (to be exact). Confronted by a ticker-tape parade (almost) of fans at every regional pitstop they visited, the 2010 Roadshow is set to overdrive for its 12th year, covering more mileage than ever before - from the North to the South to the East to the West - and even setting sail across to Singapore.
At every point of the journey, the Comedy Festival Roadshow leaves smiling faces and tickled ribs in its wake. Don't you miss out on the circus when it comes to your town.

WORLD renowned daredevil motorcyclists the Crusty Demons have been secured to wreak havoc at a Cairns stadium in May.
The mix of fearless stunt riders and rock music would hit Cazalys Stadium at Westcourt on May 22, AFL Cairns president Gary Young said.
"We are looking forward to hosting this and it’s a real coup for the region recovering from all the woes of 2009," Mr Young said.
"It’s good for the town to get something different here.
"We always want to see more and more different things and this is one of them."
Crusty Demons last visited the Far North in 2006, but the occasion was marred by controversy.
Fans hit out at the Cairns Show organisers saying the showground was unable to cope with the 9500-strong crowd, with spectators facing long queues.
