Lou Davidson’s images are created in-camera using movement, panning, hand-held long exposure, breaking the rules of traditional photography techniques, rather than being restricted by them. Free to express the memory of what she sees, hears, smells, tastes, feels and senses from her surroundings - without the clutter of unnecessary detail to soften and simplify the subject matter.
“Collective Impressions is about seeing what I feel, how the ordinary can become extraordinary by creating blurred representational forms – recognisable even without the detail engaging the view to interpret; evoking memories, sensations and dreaming of a time, a place or beings. Even abstract form and colour gives way to an infinite variety of interpretations.”
Lou Davidson obtained a double degree in Arts and Business from James Cook University in 1999.
Her work has been exhibited in a number of galleries in Townsville.

The timeOUT Awards are The Cairns Post’s way of recognising and rewarding the wealth of talent in Far North Queensland’s arts and entertainment industry. Dirty Sanchez was formed in the summer of 2006 and took an oath to bring rock back.
With a live show that needs to be experienced to be believed, they pride themselves on a big sound and a light show that is rumored to have been seen from space. With an uncompromising take no prisoners attitude, they have rocked venues as far north as Bundaberg, as far south as the Gold Coast and as far west as Roma. No gig is to small or to large.
