Join Worklink as we celebrate Mental Health Week by enjoying the charm and humour of Mary Coustas. Mary is a writer/performer and well known for her performance in Wogs out of Work and for her character Effie developed for the high rating TV sitcom Acropolis Now. She won a Best Comedy Performer Logie Award for performing the character, Effie.

Worklink's Annual Stress Less Day Luncheon will be presenting Mary Coustas as this year's guest speaker. The Luncheon boasts networking opportunities, trade stalls, door prizes, drinks on arrival and most importantly working together to reduce the stigma associated with Mental Health. With 1 in 5 Australians associated with the ill-effects of Mental Health, it is up to all of us to provide social and emotional support to our family, friends and colleagues to assist in their recovery.

Anyone who has followed Mary’s career as popular in-your-face TV and stage character Effie may be surprised to learn of the trials she has gone through. Coping with the deaths of her father, grandmother and her daughter Stevie, Mary provides an intimate view of her life experiences.

Mary also explains that though there is loss in life, there is, amongst the pain and tragedy, hope and humour too. In a voice rich with big-hearted generosity and quick-witted humour, Mary shares her heartbreak, tears and gifts and the life lessons she hopes can help others also coping with stress.
