What is Boomerang Bags?
Boomerang Bags is an Australia-wide initiative tackling plastic pollution at the grassroots level. We use fabric that would otherwise go to landfil and up-cycle it into unique, beautiful bags. Then we disperse our bags into our local community at dedicated stalls and have one-on-one conversations with people ”about waste, about sustainability and about empowering people to be part of the solution”. This way, one bag equals one conversation, amplifying the message of each of our lovingly created bags. So far, the Boomerang Bags Cairns Chapter has created and dispersed over 1000 bags!

What to bring:
Most important is you! Bring your sewing machine if you have one, but we have many non-sewing tasks (like ironing and pinning) for those who don't have one or can't sew. Bring your friends and family along as well!
