This outreach program runs over twelve weeks including six classes in Term 3 and six classes in Term 4. Participants will be guided through a range of formal art techniques and media, including drawing, painting and sculpture to develop techniques used by real artists. Each student will be encouraged to work at their own level of ability and develop a deep understanding of the value and enjoyment that can be gained through art.

Join us for the artist talk that is presented in conjunction with a major exhibition at the Cairns Art Gallery that includes new works commissioned by the Gallery in response to the ecology of Far North Queensland.
Internationally acclaimed artist Patricia Piccinini represented Australia in the 50th Biennale of Venice and was named by the Arts Newspaper as the top contemporary artist for visitor numbers worldwide in 2016 (New York Times, 2018).

Conducted in the peaceful setting of the Gallery, participants will be guided through various yoga techniques, including learning postures, meditation and breathing techniques to improve core strength, mind and body. Our qualified and experienced yoga instructor Jeany Schall will guide the class, offering the highest and latest standards of modern yoga practice.
Classes run weekly on Monday evening, except for public holidays
