Cairns Events Let's Do This

Cairns Esplanade will come alive once again this New Year’s Eve with a vibrant community event to welcome in 2017!

The free, all ages event will feature an exciting musical lineup plus carnival rides, interactive family fun show, magic show, juggling workshop, face painting, roving entertainment and more!

The musical acts are a mix of local talent with interstate band, Saskwatch headlining the evening’s festivities. Having earned a reputation as one of Melbourne’s most electrifying live acts, 6-piece band Saskwatch have taken their unique music to some of Australia’s biggest and best festivals, including Bluesfest, Meredith and Falls Festivals. They have graced the same stage as Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Maceo Parker, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and Earth, Wind and Fire.

The group will be supported by an array of local musicians, including The Taste, Drewboy and the Sax Addicts, Sanchez and Ray Danes.

The first fireworks display will light up the sky at 9pm with the fireworks finale greeting in 2017 at midnight.

Additional free bus services will be available after the event, leaving from Lake Street bus stop from 12:30am – 2:30am.

Fireworks displays 9:00pm and midnight.
