Cairns Events Let's Do This

Try unique bat-themed cocktails or mocktails on the Flying FoxTail Trail in Cairns and Kuranda from May 22nd to 19th of June.

Discover the exciting Flying FoxTail Trail, part of the 2023 Bat Festival celebrations. Join us on Sunday, June 11th, for a special bat-themed cocktail at the festival gala event at Wharf One Cafe (4pm - 7pm), and explore a variety of participating venues in Cairns and Kuranda from May 22nd to June 19th.

Visit six or more venues on the Flying FoxTail Trail and get a chance to win a prize!
Pick up your passport at any participating venue or BatSoc events. Don't forget to get it stamped when you buy the Flying FoxTail. Each venue offers its own unique bat cocktail, and you can vote for your favorite using the QR code on the passport. The venue with the most votes also wins a prize. This project is supported by a community event grant from Cairns Regional Council.

In Cairns, participating venues include Wolf Lane distillery (winner of the 2022 FoxTail), Three Wolves, Flamingos TikiBar, Pist4cchi, Splash, Guyala, and the Fox Small Bar. Most venues are near the CBD, but there are a few outliers like the Fox Small Bar in Stratford and Guyala cafe in North Cairns.

In Kuranda, you can visit Frogs in the Heritage Markets, Le Petit Cafe (opposite the park), and The Butterfly shop, cafe, and bar on Therwine St. You have four weeks to visit as many venues as you can, and you don't have to visit them all. Earn bonus points by visiting a Kuranda venue and consider stopping by BatReach to meet the bats behind your drinks.
